A Touch of Tartan

I am absolutely loving the Tartan craze this winter! I think just a touch of tartan works really well with an outfit like this. I wanted the scarf to be the main piece of this outfit, so worked my other garments around it. I like to dress in black and dark clothing a lot of the time, and I think this particular tartan piece is perfect for my sense of style as it's quite subtle and toned down. This jacket was a perfect fit to the outfit, as it shapes perfectly around the bodycon. I love the faux leather sleeves on the jacket as I've always been crazy over leather!

I love wearing gold jewellery a lot of the time, and I particularly like building different necklaces on top of each other. I think having a set of necklaces which gradually get longer are ideal for this type of an outfit - rather than having a chunky choker-type piece. I think that having these particular accessories work well with the scarf as they compliment the scarf on it's own by being slightly hidden behind.

Having black accesories with this outfit, again, compliments the scarf, making it the base of the outfit. I love a good old bowler hat as you can wear it with any hair type and it's a brilliant way of covering up a bad hair day! A think wearing this style of hat makes the outfit a bit more quirky and casual. If I was to do a more dressed up look I would have worn a black fedora hat. Having a black clutch bag keeps it minimal but still links in to the outfit. I love the small gold detailing on this bag and I luuuurve the tassels. I find this bag so practical due to the fold over. I am always happy to take this bag out as it's a safe way of holding my belongings.

I apologize for the state of these wedges! You can tell I wear them quite regularly! I bought these shoes about a month ago or so from Bershka and I am absolutely in love them! I love the detailing of the trio strap as it's very subtle and I feel would work well with gold or silver accessories. As the heels isn't that high I find these shoes really comfortable to walk in and the zip on the inner side of the shoe makes them easy to put on.

DIY Make Up Brush Organizer

I made this make-up brush organizer using things I had found around the house. It's a really simple and efficient way of organizing your make up brushes or other bits that you need for somewhere to go!

I had found an old vase which I thought had a really unique shape to it and I didn't want it to go to waste. Originally I just put my brushes in the vase on its own, without adding of the base to it, but I thought it looked really boring and ugly in my room. Because the colours in my room are pink, black and white, I wanted the organizer to link to my room.

I gathered loads of little bits from around my room. The majority of the decorations are stones that had previously come off a bracelet or necklace which I didn't want to throw away as I figured they could have a purpose - thank god I kept them! I also found some odd earrings that I either don't wear anymore or had broken. I added lots of pearls as I'm not a fan of them on jewelry but look really cute!

The make up brushes in the organizer are the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, Contour Brush, Expert Face Brush, Detail Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush and the Shading Brush. I also have two angle brushes from Revlon another from GOSH and another from Sleek. These are the brushes that I use pretty much everyday and keep them in this organizer so they are easily accessible.

I hope this may give some inspiration if you're tired of having to shove your brushes in your make up bag or in a draw!

OOTD and The Wolf Of Wall Street

Last night I took a trip to the cinema to watch the new hit movie 'The Wolf Of Wall Street' and I can tell you that it was bloody fantastic!! Would definitely recommend anyone to go see it! I mean what better way to spend three hours watching the gorgeous Leonardo Decaprio in a beautiful suit!

Here's a piccy of my outfit that I wore as we went out for a casual dinner before:)

I love this dress from Missguided as it's so easy to style for all types of occasions. It's such a comfy and slimming fit and it's in black - which obviously I LOVE!

20 Questions

1.Thing you cannot leave the house without:
I will always take my keys, iPhone and purse wherever I am going!

2.Favorite brand of makeup:
I don't have any favourite brand in particular, but at the moment I am absolutely loving all of Sleek's products - especially their brow kit in 817.

3.Favorite Flowers:
Honestly, I'm not a massive flower fan! So long as they are in nutural colours I'm happy. Lily's will do.

4.Fave clothing stores:

Topshop and H&m!

5.Fave perfume:

To be honest I don't have one particular favourite. I never find myself sticking to one specific scent. At the moment I am loving the Emporio Armarni 'Diamonds' in black - it's lushhhh! Although I always find myself going back to 'Lola' by Marc Jacobs just because it smells soooo good and lasts for hours. I also like the Zara Men fragrance, I feel like men's fragrance has a longer lasting smell and they usually all smell soooo good!

6.Heels or flats:

Depends on the occasion! I do love mid heels though, as I am so short and you can wear them so casually.

7.Do you make good grades?

I'm still studying at college, doing a third year, so we'll wait and see if I get the grades to get into university!

8.Fave colours:
BLACK (although it's not considered a colour!) The majority of my outfits are based in black.

9.Do you drink energy drinks?
No, I hate them! I hate that sugary feeling you get on your teeth after a sip! I use coffee to wake me up in the mornings!

10.Do you drink juice?
Yes! I luuuurve orange juice, particularly the innocent smooth one! Mmm!!

11.Do you like swimming?
Only if I go in a pool, I hate going swimming in the sea or lakes.

12.Do you eat fries with a fork?
No way! Who does that?!

13.Whats your fave moisturiser?
I love the Garnier ultralift, it makes my face feel so fresh after applying it

14.Do you want to get married later on in life?
Yes, but not for a very long time!

15.Do you get mad easily?
No, it takes a lot for me to get seriously mad. I get wound up quite easily but find it easy to laugh it off. I'm a generally happy person:)

16.Are you into ghost hunting?
No way! It scares the crap out of me!

17.Any phobias?
Yes. Flying on a plane, daddy long legs and getting my hair cut ha!

18.Do you bite your nails?

As much as I hate to admit it, but yes. But I will always get acrylic nails to cover up the stumps - I know they're bad for your nails but it's better than having to reveal the ugliness on the ends of my hands!

19.Have you ever had a near death experience?

No, touch wood!

20.Do you drink coffee?
Yes, I am OBSESSED with coffee!

Numero Uno

Hello hello!
My name's Katie and I am a fashion and beauty obsessed 18 year old!I was born in Hong Kong and moved to Winchester shorty after and now live in West Sussex. I would absolutely love to live in Hong Kong when I have reached the end of my education as it is the most amazing place I have ever been.
After following popular blogs such as Zoella and Fleur De Force, I thought why not start my own?! I am a typical 'shopaholic' and spend the majority of my money on make up, clothes and shoes as opposed to saving up for university! I have just received two offers for uni's, and I want to study Fashion Promotion and Communication - fingers crossed!
I am absolutely in love with my friends and family and I spend a lot of time with them. I am very much a 'people person' and I get my kicks from being surrounded by the people I love.
That's just a little summary of me - hope you enjoy!
